Flylight are delighted to introduce the new ZJ-Viera composite single seat deregulated microlight. This brand new aircraft was designed to comply with America’s part 103 ultralight code and, as a result, fits perfectly into the UK’s single seat sub 115 category.
Although in the UK an airworthiness requirement is not necessary for this category of aircraft, the ZJ-Viera has been designed to the Czech UL2 code and here at Flylight, we believe it important that any product we endorse should have some proof that the structure has been tested and is fit for flight. We think that this is important as it gives our customers confidence in their purchase - indeed the wings alone have been load tested to over 9G (includes 2.2x composite safety factor).
The
primary structure is of an ultra modern, high quality one piece all composite
fuselage together with fabric covered composite wings. The control surfaces
are fabric covered aluminium structures with the wings and horizontal tail
being easily detached for storage and transport.
All these
features result in a sleek aircraft with good performance of simple construction,
resulting in minimal maintenance but at a surprisingly low price………and,
with innovative styling, you’re sure to stand out from the crowd!!
Production models will come complete with the Fly200 electric start engine, producing 27hp and sipping around 4L per hour. A composite 2 Blade fixed pitch propeller compliments the installation and, together with its 12.5L tank the ZJ-Viera should return more than adequate endurance together with minimal operating costs. The Fly200 engine already has a pedigree having been used successfully within the paramotor industry and, weighing in at only 14kg results in the monowheel version having an empty weight of just 78kg! Combine this with the calculated MAUW of 200kg and a 113kg pilot can fly with a full tank of fuel and still be within the structural design limit. Alternatively, you can benefit from installing a full instrument package and/or add a GRS Ballistic Total Recovery System (6kg).
Flylight's demonstrator aircraft is now in the UK undergoing flight testing and will soon be fitted with all the options described above. Demonstration flights can be arranged by telephoning the centre.
Aircraft are available in either kit form or test flown ready to fly and in monowheel or tri-gear versions.
Flylight’s demonstrator aircraft is due for delivery in February 2008 from when it will be available for viewing and demonstrations.
