Dedicated and experienced technical support and well stocked parts backup.
Unbeatable value for money!
The Nynja carries all these qualities and attacks the next level of performance and aesthetics, - a market area normally populated with aircraft far more expensive and less practical.
Subject to wind tunnel optimisation by the reknowned Toulouse aeronautical university ENSICA the new Nynja adds:
Sleeker lines and underlying fuselage swathed in a smooth, modular composite skin.
This gives the aerodynamic and aesthetic advantages of a fully composite aircraft, but without the drawbacks of high manufacturing cost and difficult repair.
The non structural modular panels can easily be repaired or replaced in the event of surface damage. The underlying structure of triangulated pin jointed straight tubes provides excellent crash worthiness, and is easy to assess, and repair by component replacement. This is a major practical advantage compared to all composite, or built up sheet metal construction.

Detail aerodynamic cleanup.
Reengineered underlying structure to reduce weight and add strength.
The Nynja also features:
Greater Glazed area and rear window for class leading visibility
New contoured composite seats with tailored seat covers in a choice of colours
Redesigned fuel system with easy external filler
Low drag anti vortex composite wingtip fairings
'Binnacle' style instrument panel and centre console
Rear Baggage Hammock
Forward baggage trays
Arrodynamic fairings for wing strut ends, cable exits and tailplane.
Aerofoil Jury struts
One piece upper hinged doors
Powerful hydraulic disc brakes
Nynja optional extras:
Xlam Covering - non porous, wipe clean long life laminate wing and tail coverings
Two piece doors - gives extra cabin width and the ability to fly with the upper doors open.
Wheel spats - improved looks and performance - and stops mud spraying up too!
Cabin heat
Carb heat
Wing fold kit (same system as Skyranger)
Prop covers
Ballistic recovery parachute system
Choice of analogue or glass cockpit instrumentation.
The Nynja is offered initially as a 450kg (472.5kg with ballistic parachute) Microlight, but has been tested to 500kg and will also be available as a ‘group A’ Light Sport Aircraft in the near future. – offering microlight running costs and practicality, with increased payload, for those with a light aircraft pilots license.

Flight qualities
The Nynja uses the same wings and layout as the Skyranger Swift and inherits all its great flight qualities of STOL performance, fast cruise and docile handling. Added is greater directional stability and improved detail aerodynamics enhancing the overall flight performance in terms of speed and efficiency, and ease of handling. Noticeable also is the outstanding class leading in-flight visibility improved by the rear window area and extra forward length in the doors.
Engines
The Nynja is offered with Rotax 912 series as the standard fit, either the 80 hp 912UL of the 100 hp 912ULS, and composite Keivprop propeller, renowned for smoothness, low noise and efficiency.
The build
The Nynja is supplied as a pre fabricated fast build kit. All necessary components are supplied, down to the small details, with all structural parts finished, and connecting brackets pre-assembled. No special skills or processes are required. Glassfibre components are supplied finished in white and require no painting. Building is simple assembly work, guided by a comprehensive step by step build manual.
The build is overseen by the BMAA, who will appoint a local inspector, who will inspect your work at key stages and offer advice.
Flylight Airsports provide a full time expert build advice service and keep in stock a large parts inventory should the need arise. We also offer an expert test flying service, so you can be assured your finished aircraft flies perfectly.
Continuing to lead the way in FAI competition:

The Skyranger has dominated FAI championships for well over a decade, with wins by Phillippe Zen and latterly Paul Dewhurst, who has 3 world Championshp wins under his belt flying the Skyranger. Now the baton has been passed to Robert Grimwood.
Rob Grimwood is well known as a multiple FAI World championship winner in the Flexwing class and John Waite partnered him to Gold in last years European Championship. Now they have decided to switch to the Fixedwing class, and chose the Nynja as the optimum machine for the purpose. Their aircraft has been specially built by Rob and John with support and help from Flylight, over the 2010/2011 winter for their 2011 and beyond FAI World championship campaign.
Their Nynja features a ‘if it isn’t necessary it isn’t there’ philosophy to keep weight to a minimum, and enhance takeoff and landing performance, flight economy and efficiency. This aircraft is constructed from standard kit components (with many bits sawn off or left out!), the only deviations being a special lightweight Skydrive Lithium starter battery. Empty weight of this machine came in at 249Kg.

Extra window panels forward of the main lower doors are fitted and the instrument panel has been cut down, and fitted with a special small electronic flight instruments, and provides for increased field of view for accurate navigation tracking and spotting of ground targets. They are contemplating fitting a large lexan panel to the floor for a full ‘glass bottomed boat effect!
Rob and John chose the Nynja for its all round performance, ruggedness, and its construction medium which makes it ideal to be adapted and modified for their specific requirements.
Their aircraft has proven in early season trials to be able to take off from a standing start and be airbourne and up and over a 1m high tape in under 85m in nil wind on grass. Short landing over the tape has been achieved to a full stop in under 100m. It can go from a slow safe loiter observation mode at 40mph to 120mph when required, and can achieve maximum steady economy mode using under 7 litres per hour. Thanks to secure safe and responsive low speed handling it is also surprisingly good at riding the thermals and can be climbed engine off as well as all but dedicated motorglider microlights.
These aren’t just specialist competition attributes, but transfer directly to everyday sport flying and show the all round flexibility and benefits of the Skyranger Nynja.
Flylight And BestOff wish Rob and John all the best of luck for their campaign!
