A short spell of nice winter weather has allowed us to make some more testflights of both the Flylight Dragonfly light trike and Alatus-M self-launching sailplane. We are extremely pleased with the results of all the tests so far, both machines exhibit ease of handling and performance (especially low sink rate). Paul Dewhurst even managed a short thermalling flight in the Alatus, retaining height even in the depths of winter! A new video of the Dragonfly flying has been posted on the flexwing movies section of the website.

Flylight have just finished unpacking after returning from one of our most successful trade exhibitions ever. Flylights stand was once again the star of the show, with the first public viewings of the Alatus-M self-launching sailplane, the Dragonfly light trike, and a special suprise with the new 13m² wing on the Tanarg (which offers higher cruise speeds and lighter roll control than the larger wing). Interest in the ubiquitous SkyRanger was also high, and our shop was kept busy all weekend. We took a number of orders for new aircraft at the show, and the production schedules for the Alatus and Dragonfly are starting to fill up for spring next year. Thanks to everyone who came and saw us at the show; we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Flylight will be exhibiting at the Sport & Light Aviation Show (SPLASH) on the 24th and 25th November. Not only will we be taking the ever-popular SkyRanger and Aeros brands, but this show marks the first ever public unveiling of the Alatus-M motorglider and Dragonfly light trike. Fans of the Air Creation Tanarg can expect something a bit special too! Come and see us at the show, and bring your chequebook!

Details on the new ZJ-Viera single-seat fixed-wing have been placed on the site. The Viera realises a return to the grass roots of microlighting, emphasizing fun and enjoyment over out-and-out performance, whilst still maintaining a reasonable touring ability thanks to the 4-litre per hour fuel consumption in the cruise. Utilising the latest composite technology allows the aircraft to be phenomenally light and strong, all at an extremely competitive price tag.
